The new version of bitbake filters environment variables, so the solution is to add the following line to build/profile: export BB_ENV_EXTRAWHITE="MACHINE DISTRO ANGSTROM_MODE OVEROTOP OEBRANCH USERBRANCH" I'll update the sample profile file in the repository so that others won't run into this issue.
