Hi, I've got a, fairly recent, Gumstix connex 400xm-bt which I haven't done much with yet. I've talked to it through its serial port ok - but now when I power it up - it prints garbage which looks like a bit like it's running at the wrong baud rate. Has the Gumstix UART failed? Is there some more testing I can do? I can connect to it fine through ssh running over the USB port and # stty -a < /dev/ttyS0 speed 115200 baud; rows 0; columns 0; intr = ^C; quit = ^\; erase = ^?; kill = ^U; eof = ^D; eol = <undef>; eol2 = <undef>; start = ^Q; stop = ^S; susp = ^Z; rprnt = ^R; werase = ^W; lnext = ^V; flush = ^O; min = 1; time = 0; -parenb -parodd cs8 hupcl -cstopb cread clocal -crtscts -ignbrk -brkint -ignpar -parmrk -inpck -istrip -inlcr -igncr -icrnl -ixon -ixoff -iuclc -ixany -imaxbel -opost -olcuc -ocrnl -onlcr -onocr -onlret -ofill -ofdel nl0 cr0 tab0 bs0 vt0 ff0 -isig -icanon -iexten -echo -echoe -echok -echonl -noflsh -xcase -tostop -echoprt -echoctl -echoke so it thinks it's running at the right speed. Just in case, I've tried different baud rates on the PC communication side - but can't find anything that works. Loop-back on the PC serial port is ok (though this won't verify speed is correct). I've tried talking to the other serial port STUART /dev/ttyS2 but that doesn't seem to give any response at all. Putting a loop-back wire on the second serial port and: # cat /dev/ttyS2 & # echo abcd > /dev/ttyS2 doesn't seem echo anything either. Is it worth disabling the getty on ttyS0 and trying a loop-back on that? Should I send it back or have I overlooked something silly here? Thanks for any help, ---__ __ o ___ / (_// / / ) ) |
