I have had a identical situation of you. I have two instruction to lunch when the gumstix startup. I have created a script file (as other people say), and add it to /etc/rcS.d/ folder. It's called S99XXX to be runned lasted. When I start the gumstix, this file is lunched, and the two instruction are executed. BUT, I have a problem. One of this instruction is for a external board connected to the Gumstix by USB port, so I have to executed my script instruction when the Gumstix USB driver where correctly loader, and my board reconized (in /dev/ttyACM). How can I lunch my script instruction, that let it work with the USB serial port? If I write the script instruction (it's a socat instruction, with a special parameter) in the bash console, all are OK, but if I write it on the start up script, nothing work (but in ps listing procesS I can see the instruction lunched).
