Amending my question. Not sure why the image I had installed wouldn't run mknod, but it seems to work now. I suspect user error, but whatever. Anyway, the question is how to add a USB serial device? I've got pl2303 as a module, and usbserial seems to be working. However, unlike my fedora box, when I load pl2303, I can't talk to the device. I've got a ttyUSB0 created as 188, 0 character device, but can't even open the port. I get a no such device error. I've seen chat on the list about using usbserial adapters, but now what is required in the image to make this work. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
