What I want to do is connect from a linux > box, as a client, to the gumstix, as a server, using ssh over bluetooth. I > am using a basix 400xm-bt gumstix and an Ubuntu 7.10 linux box. There are two independent notions of "client vs server" here. - At the Bluetooth level: By default the gumstix board is "slave" (aka "device") and the PC is "master". Your PDF refers to these roles as "client" and "server", which is misleading. - At the SSH level: A system can be a server (listening for incoming TCP connections on port 22) or a client (initiating TCP connections to servers) or both. If you follow the instructions for "Gumstix as client, Linux box as server" in the PDF, you will get IP networking over Bluetooth. At this point you can start a ssh server on the gumstix. It should be running by default, actually. Another resource: http://docwiki.gumstix.org/LinuxBluetooth Pascal |
