In addition to Craig's "What error?" question, what compiler was used under FC6?

I'm assuming that you didn't use the makefile found over here:
<http://docswiki.gumstix.com/Sample_code/C/Hello_World>
because it doesn't produce a.out as its output.

If you used gcc then you created an x86 executable, which won't work
on an ARM XScale. You can check the type of file your a.out is by
typing:

file a.out

on your FC6 machine.
