Well, I think in theory with a passive antenna, you'll get better S/N =20= performance, since you'll be using the LNA which is integrated into =20 the module, as opposed to an LNA on the antenna which is not =20 necessarily matched to whatever is best for the module. But then =20 again, I know nothing about radio voodoo, so I could be way off. But =20= 2 drops of solder and a short piece of wire is likely cheaper than a =20 whole new antenna too...
