You can modify the GPSstix to work with a passive antenna instead of =20 an active one, fairly easily. You should see on top of the board a =20 white stenciled box, which has 2 set of pads in it: "zero ohm =20 passive" which is not populated by default, and "ten ohm active" =20 which is populated. If you use a knife to pop off the ten ohm =20 resistor, then solder a piece of wire across the zero ohm pads, the =20 board will then work with a passive antenna.
