Apparently TeraTerm will currupt files in transit. Here is the Wiki = Page for connecting via serial and windows. http://docwiki.gumstix.org/Connecting_via_Serial_-_Windows although I'm not having any luck with Verdex and console-vx. ----- Original Message -----=20 From: Pla...@ao...=20 To: gum...@li...=20 Sent: Friday, June 01, 2007 4:41 PM Subject: Re: [Gumstix-users] How do I connect the gumstix to my = computer, and the daug... Hi Shawn, If you use the serial port on the gumstix or a USB port you can = connect to your computer directly. If you are using the serial = connection you have to either have a serial port on your computer or a = serial to USB converter and connect that into a USB port on your = computer (note: most USB to serial converters require a driver in order = to work, at least the BIGPINE one I have does, I'm not sure about = others). Once you are connected you can use a terminal program like = TeraTerm (although someone said this one doesn't work so well with = gumstix because of a data transmission error, anyone know anything about = that?) or HyperTerminal, etc. (there are many others), and you can then = login to the gumstix using one of these programs. There are other ways = to do it, this is just one solution, I hope it helps.
