Hello, I've been trying to get a Gumstix and GPSStix into a model plane to get a nice GPS/altitude track. I have a perl script (modeled off the Pegasus balloon one) reading the inputs from the GPS and outputting to a CSV. When I run the Gumstix on the ground (at my desk or in a car), I get perfect logging; I've left the system running for over an hour with no problems. When I put it into the plane, however, the machine crashes shortly after takeoff (as evidenced by the last time stamp in the logfile). I was thinking either electrical noise or vibrations coming from the engine, but the logging seems fine on the ground with the engine running. Has anyone tried to use a Gumstix in an RC plane and seen similar problems? Does the Gumstix have any sort of known interference issues in the R/C band (72 MHz) that might be causing the problem? Thanks, Karthik |
