That's really bizare. I double checked the u-boot tarball and it has
<config.h> and I don't see any patches that would change it.

Can you try:

cd gumstix-buildroot
rm -rf build_arm_no_fpu/u-boot-1.1.4
make

and see if yours still has <linux/config.h>

The only explanation I have is that its a carryover from some older
release or something.
