Thanks, Ken. My problem is actually simpler. I'm new to gumstix and am having trouble following some of the instructions. I found the solution to my original question - cd to the linux directory and *then* run make of the menuconfig. Now I'm stuck on the next bit - the busybox section - where are the "Linux System Utilities" and "Linux Ext2 FS Progs", somewhere under build_arm_nofpu... -the /init file - since the system isn't running yet, where is "/"? On the question of fs image size, its determined by the dd later on by specifying bs=1 and count=65536. From experience, to increase the size, is it better to increase bs, or the count? Is the count limited to 65536 as a result of 16bit addressing or is that irrelevant? Thanks for your help - Jim --- ken staton <ken...@gm...> wrote: > On 12/19/06, Jim Kaubisch <jim...@ya...> wrote: > > I've hit a problem with the instructions on the wiki > > (root-filesystems).
