Hi James, You need to look at Dave's fantastic example button driver on the wikki. It wouldn't take a huge amount of work to get that to a point where you could use it. a) Install driver b) Wire up your pulse input with some kind of voltage dropping circuit (someone else will help you with that) c) do something like this... #insmod sample.ko #./sample-test > myfile.txt Without any extra work that'd store the jiffy count at the time of each pulse in the text file. Some minor code changes and it'd store the date/time. I can't see it being impossible to adapt the driver further to output the frequency of pulses, rather than events for the pulses themselves. I hope that made sense. Have a look at the example code and it should mean more to you. I was a complete driver newbie a couple of weeks ago and now I'm an addict. Mostly due to Dave's work on that example! All the very best and good luck for the flight!
