I noticed that typing the reboot command seems to take a while. I also noticed that pressing a key (I use the spacebar) after the Please stand by while rebooting the system. then the reboot proceeds much quicker (i.e. at a normal pace).. I threw in some additional calls to the message function in the busybox-1.00/init/init.c file and discovered that each call to message required an additional keypress. If I opened the console and left it open, then no keypresses are required. The way I did it was to open a second file descriptor on the console and not close it. This leads me to believe that it's related to the final close of the file descriptor, which is when release is called (at the driver level). I haven't tracked it down any further, but figured I'd pass along what I did find. -- Dave Hylands Vancouver, BC, Canada http://www.DaveHylands.com/ |
