Hi Dave, There are probably a lot of web references on this because it's pretty standard Linux stuff. But, here's what I do specifically for my gumstix and Netgear card: Login using the console (via the tweener) Edit /etc/pcmcia/wireless.opts file to set ESS ID: case "$ADDRESS" in *,*,*,*) INFO="FBCFA" ESSID="whatever" ;; esac (Change the INFO line and the ESSID line.) Edit /etc/pcmcia/network.opts file to use dhcp: case "$ADDRESS" in *,*,*,*) INFO="FBCFA" # Use DHCP (via /sbin/dhcpcd, /sbin/dhclient, or /sbin/pump)? [y/n] DHCP="y" (Change the INFO line and the DHCP line. Leave the other lines alone.) Edit /etc/resolv.conf to add your nameserver. Edit /etc/modules and comment out these lines: # mmc_block # pxamci Rename /etc/init.d/S30bluetooth to /etc/init.d/s30bluetooth so that bluetooth doesn't start on startup. Rename /etc/init.d/s30pcmcia to /etc/init.d/S30pcmcia so that pcmcia starts. |
