Hi, I'm trying to reflash u-boot onto my gumstix (a connex 200 xm) using JTAG. I'm having a few problems and was hoping somebody could let me know where I'm going wrong :-) My understanding is that the procedure is: initialise chip, download u-boot to memory, and execute over JTAG. Come into u-boot over the serial port (I didn't see this written down anywhere, but it's my only guess) and use u-boot to flash u-boot onto the gumstix. I can connect to the board over JTAG (using a wiggler knock-off and OCD Commander). I can download a u-boot srecord using the script on the JTAG wiki page. But then nothing ! Should I expect to see something on the serial port (the same one that I'd normally see the console on if everything was well) ? [I've peeked at the outgoing serial port line with a scope and saw nothing, so it's not as simple as misconfigured serial IO.] I'm using a u-boot srecord generated by 'make'ing the buildroot. I've also tried with an srecord that I made from the latest u-boot .bin on the sourceforge page (made with 'arm-linux-objcopy u-boot.bin.r563-200MHz u-boot.srec -I binary -O srec --adjust-vma=0xa3f00000'). Any ideas welcome ? Does the 'boot script' perhaps need to be changed for xm's ? <Insert more random speculation...> Once again, many thanks in advance, Jony |
