Hallo, despite my warning, my girlfriend got herself the newest iPod Nano ("It looks so pretty!"). Now I'm trying to get it working with her Kubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon. I searched the web for a solution to the checksum problem and found a link to "funk's corner of the interschnitzel" http://thefunkcorner.blogspot.com/2007/10/ubuntu-ipod-nano.html on "Will’s Home" http://www.backdot.com/?p=50 I installed Pauls libgpod2_0.5.3-0.4_i386.deb which can be found here: ftp://64.22.103.45/packages/gutsy/libgpod Then I plugged in the iPod, opened a terminal window, sudoed to root (sudo bash). But if I try to use ipod-read-sysinfo-extended, this results in: # ipod-read-sysinfo-extended /dev/sdc /media/ipod Couldn't resolve Device directory path on /media/ipod I already checked if the ipod is really /dev/sdc, I created the directory /media/ipod and I tried /dev/sdc1 and /dev/sdc2. All with the same result. I know I should ask Paul for support, but there's no contact information on his blog. Maybe someone else can help me. If I'm successful I will post the solution to www.ubuntuusers.de the largest german ubuntu community. So at least there will be less support requests for the new ipod nano by german speaking ubuntu users on this mailing list in future. Thanks for help, Lars |
