The attached patch adds a config summary (you might recognize the format :). If you think more detail is in order, like python version, location, or whatever, let me know. As far as installation instructions and requirements, where do you think they'd best fit in? INSTALL, INSTALL_CVS, or README? Here's a stab at some basic installation instructions (mainly intended to spur some comments about why these suck and what needs fixed and added before checking them into CVS): --------------------------------------------------------------------- To build the python interface you will need: Python>= 2.1.1 (and the development package / headers) SWIG>= 1.3.24 Use the --with-python option to enable building. Configure will search for python in $PATH. You may pass a path as an option if you want to use a specific python interpreter: --with-python=/path/to/your/python For usage examples, see the scripts in bindings/python/examples. --------------------------------------------------------------------- The exact version of SWIG that's required isn't something I know. There were changes to SWIG at some point that required changes to the interface file, but I don't know in what version those changes occurred. So the 1.3.24 is not as precise as it could be. Any help from someone that knows SWIG would be welcome. -- Todd OpenPGP -> KeyID: 0xD654075A | URL: www.pobox.com/~tmz/pgp ====================================================================== Conscience is what hurts when everything else feels so good. |
