Update: there is the "Synchronize iTunesDB" which seems promising; but generates the same message "Warning the iTunesDB has not been imported...". I went ahead and did it anyway, and then synced "today's" files over. In checking the iPod, of course only today's songs are present, and not any from yesterday. So, help!
