Hi, I'm having trouble deciding the best (i.e. easiest, fastest) way to do certain things. I'm sure the collective here can help. Since I'm sure someone will want to know, this is gtkpod 0.94.0 downloaded and compiled from sourceforge this evening. 1. I add some new mp3s to my hard drive. They are under the same top level folder as all my other mp3 that gtkpod knows about. Do I do: a. File->Synchronize Directories->Selected Playlist (with the gtkpod playlist highlighted)? b. File->Add Directory and then add the top level directory again? c. Other - you fill in the blank here. 2. I remove some mp3s from my hard drive. They are under the top level mp3 folder, gtkpod knows about them, and I want them removed from my iPod too. Do I: a. rm the mp3s from hard drive, then hunt it down in gtkpod and right-click->Delete from iPod? b. rm the mp3s from hard drive, then do Synchronize Directories->Selected Playlist (with the gtkpod playlist highlighted)? c. rm the mp3s from hard drive, then do File->Add Directory and then add the top level directory? d. Other - you fill in the blank here. 3, I edit some meta info (id3 tag, right?) of a song in another program such as amarok. I would like this change reflected on my iPod. Again, which is the fasted way to updated gtkpod/my iPod? Your recommendations are much appreciated. Bryan |
