Hey, I'm using GTKpod 2.0.1 on Debian unstable. A couple weeks ago it was upgraded to then 2.0.0 fom 0.99*****. At first the program worked, except that it always tried to sync all my podcast folders with my iPod, where there wasn't enough space. So it put as many files on the iPod als possible, but they did not show up as entries in the database (I will elaborate on this separate issue in another mail), although they were "physically" stored on the device. So during the last weeks it had to access my iPod via a MP3 tagging tool in order to see, which files I could safely delete by hand, as I didn't need them anymore. It seems that for now two years, GTKpod hasn't actually been deleting all files I cleaned via the program, but erased them from the database only, leaving the audio files present on the device, as say, zombie files that eventually clogged up my iPod (160GB). When I started GTKpod after the cleanup (still unter version 2.0.0) the application didn't start anymore, an upgrade to 2.0.1 that came a few weeks later didn't change anything either. For a short while I can see the Anjuta and GTKpod splash screen, then they disappear and no GTKpod gui in sight. Restarting the program fails, as I'm told that GTKpod was running already and in fact, in htop and ps aux I can see the process. Except that I cannot use it, so I revert to killing it right away. Maybe someone can help me find the reason for this behavior. I'm not a Linux expert and have no experience in debugging applications, so I don't know what to do next. Again, the new version 2.0.0 worked in the beginning, except that automatic synchronisation couldn't be turned off. Thanks for your help, Pascal -- |
