this time I hope I will complete the posting berfore send it :P here
what i do:

download the sources from the shuffle3g branch and untar them to a
directory. than run

>./autogen.sh
>make


I get following error:

CC     libgpod_la-itdb_itunesdb.lo
cc1: warnings being treated as errors
itdb_itunesdb.c: In function ‘write_hphs’:
itdb_itunesdb.c:6379: error: integer constant is too large for ‘long’
type


I'm using 32 bits Ubuntu so, to compile, I use my a little bit of my
rusty C ;) and change this line to (itdb_itunesdb.c:6379):

put64lint (cts, (((guint64) 0x0000ffff) << 32) + 0x0001ffff); 

which should have the same effect as the original line. After that it
compiles fine so

>make
>sudo make install

installs.

>gtkpod

to call the gui.

If this bug is specific to my environment and you encounter difficulties
to reproduce. Maybe you tell me what is wrong with my iTunesDB/SD and I
will try to discover why this happens.

Can you check out the latest commit from Christophe's repo at  
http://gitorious.org/~teuf/libgpod/teuf-sandbox/commits/shuffle3g/
There is no change between that and the cumulative patches I posted but if you 
are not using those check out the repo. Then can you reproduce the bug and 
give me the exact steps you took. I know what happened but I can't say why it 
happened and I need to be able to reproduce the bug to figure that out.
