You would need V1.6 of libmp4v2, which is available at

http://downloads.sourceforge.net/mpeg4ip/mpeg4ip-1.6.tar.gz

I've fixed this issue with the current version in SVN and gtkpod should 
compile again with older versions of mp4v2, albeit without Album Artist 
support for mp4 files.
