Hello, I understand it's an already reported issue¹ that some people have been having trouble with duplicate entries on their iPod. I'm seeing a similar thing - some artists have several repeated entries on the iPod's "artist" menu. When iTunes writes the database everything seems fine. Some specific examples: Sigur Ros has many, many repeated entries, all in one place. Smash Mouth has about 5 entries in one place. Mr. Scruff has many entries, scattered throughout the list in places out of alphabetical order. I've uploaded two versions of the iTunesDB file to my webspace: http://www.ethicsgirls.com/stuff/iTunesDB http://www.ethicsgirls.com/stuff/iTunesDB.apple The former is the version written by gtkpod, the latter by iTunes. I'm using the latest gtkpod/libgpod in Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon. I'm not on the gtkpod-devel list; if there's any more info you need, let me know. ¹ http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=9b46a7580801200122m65ddcae3n8c9a19bbfafaa5af%40mail.gmail.coma -- Alex Pounds (Creature) .~. http://www.alexpounds.com/ /V\ http://www.ethicsgirls.com/ // \\ "Variables won't; Constants aren't" /( )\ ^`~'^ |
