Imho thats the only way to get from a plugin feature back to the plugin. I would like to make it public either via, 1.) mark it as public (people already access the field anyway) 2.) add const gchar* gst_plugin_feature_get_plugin_name(GstPluginFeature*) 3.) add gobject properties for rank,name and plugin-name (plugin-name will be read-only).
