Hi paul, I find the solution to your problem: Each discard pattern must be a well formatted regular expression. So instead of =20 discardPattern0=3D^.*ad.doubleclick.net:80.*$=20 use =20 discardPattern0=3Dad\.doubleclick\.net the dot (.) is a metacharacter so you need to backslash it. My only other wish concerns the discard patterns. It seems that hits = to discard sites from within an allowed page are still recorded. You said = you were going to check if the discards only apply to a whole page. I did do some experimenting with full and partial domain names and with an = explicit port 80, but it didn't help.
