GraphicsMagick 1.3.22 Released

GraphicsMagick 1.3.22 is primarily a maintenance/bug-fix release. Since the prior release, the source code has been submitted to Coverity static analysis, with all discovered issues fixed, resulting in zero remaining Coverity issues. Many bugs reported by users have been fixed. Due to security/stability fixes, it is recommended to update to this release as soon as possible.

GraphicsMagick 1.3.21 Released

GraphicsMagick 1.3.21 is primarily a security fix release. A very large number of issues were fixed which were discovered using intentionally corrupted files from fuzz testers. Any site accepting files from untrusted users should update to this release ASAP since many of the corrupted files were released to the public and may crash previous versions of the software.

GraphicsMagick 1.3.20 Released

GraphicsMagick 1.3.20 is primarily a maintenance release. In spite of that, missing PDF/SVG composition operators have been added, and existing composition operators have been updated to properly deal with an alpha channel. Google's WebP support is fully usable now and it is included in the Windows builds/installers. The Windows VisualMagick configure program is enhanced in order to allow setting more options while configuring the Visual Studio project. Additional functions have been added to the Wand library. Clang/LLVM should be better supported now. Many minor bugs have been fixed.

GraphicsMagick 1.3.19 Released

This release includes all bug fixes and new features developed in the past nine months and is the release that all GraphicsMagick users should be using. Support for Google's WebP format has been added to configure-based builds (not yet for Windows Visual Studio builds). Support is added for a non-standard 32-bit PNM and PAM formats in the Q32 build. JPEG now supports writing the XMP profile. The JPEG, PNG, littlecms, libxml2, and FreeType libraries were refreshed to the latest upstream versions for the Windows Visual Studio builds. GraphicsMagick 1.3.18 released

A new 'batch' command was added to support submitting many commands at once, or driven as a co-process with commands submitted via standard input. Microsoft Windows 64-bit application is now fully supported. An -auto-orient option is added. Many bugs were fixed.

GraphicsMagick 1.3.17 released

GraphicsMagick 1.3.17 provides a number of significant bug fixes and feature improvements over previous releases. On *nix type systems and other systems using Autoconf configure, it now possible to parallel install shared library builds using different quantum depths. The -lat algorithm is tremendously faster. Support is added for Garmin JNX format. Significant PNG reader bugs were fixed. BMP format now supports an alpha channel for truecolor images. Bugs were fixed in the SVG/MVG/WMF/-draw drawing facility. The test suite is completely re-written from scratch to use TAP tests. Various Windows add-on libraries are updated. The 'dcraw' program is added in the Windows build so that Windows users can easily read RAW camera formats.

GraphicsMagick 1.3.16 released

GraphicsMagick 1.3.16 is primarily a bug-fix release. It is completely compatible with prior 1.3.X releases. A security fix is included. The SWT reader is fixed. A memory leak in the XBM reader was eliminated. Feature improvements and bug fixes are included for the MAT, PDF, and PNG formats. Fixes/improvements made to -trim, +repage, and -units. The included PerlMagick now compiles with Perl 5.16. Many of the 3rd-party libraries are updated to the latest releases for the Windows build.

GraphicsMagick 1.3.15 Released

GraphicsMagick 1.3.15, an image processing toolkit and programming APIs, is now available. A PNG writer bug is fixed as well as some temporary file leaks. Support for random noise has been added as well as the -strip and -repage command options. The XCF format now supports selecting which layers to return. The INFO coder now supports the -format option similar to 'identify'.

GraphicsMagick 1.3.14 Released

GraphicsMagick 1.3.14 provides bug fixes for the DPX, EMF, TGA, and DCRAW formats. Support for MEF RAW is added.The Despeckle algorithm (-despeckle) is many times faster than before. The PNG, TIFF, and zlib libraries are updated to the latest release versions for the Windows package.

GraphicsMagick 1.3.13 Released

Many bugs are fixed, including some which caused deadlock or a crash. Some of the more interesting new features are EXIF profiles are preserved when writing JPEG files, the benchmark facility now includes a mode for benchmarking with varying threads, netpbm PAM format supported, BigTIFF format supported under Windows.

GraphicsMagick 1.3.12 Released

This release fixes a number of bugs. Most significantly, use of GraphicsMagick as a filter was broken by the 1.3.10 release. Windows users should install this version in order to avoid possible exposure to DOS due to well-crafted PNG files.

GraphicsMagick 1.3.11 Released

This is both a bug-fix and feature release. A critical bug related to use of signed characters (introduced in 1.3.8) is fixed. Support is added for -compose, -extent, and -thumbnail command options.

GraphicsMagick 1.3.10 Released

This release fixes several bugs which were discovered in the 1.3.9 release. The most significant fix is that +adjoin was not working as expected with one image frame.

GraphicsMagick 1.3.9 Released

This releases quite a few bugs, including those submitted to the Debian bug tracking system, or to the Debian GraphicsMagick maintainer.The most significant bug fixed is a crash if the number of OpenMP threads is reduced from the default via the command line or OpenMP API.

GraphicsMagick 1.3.8 Released

GraphicsMagick 1.3.8 is now available. The list of improvements since the last minor release is huge. The CALS Type 1 format can now be written. The JPEG 2000 support is improved. Additional functions are added to the Wand library. Several configuration files are now made optional where before they were required.

GraphicsMagick 1.2.10 Released

GraphicsMagick 1.2.10 is now available. This is a bug-fix/maintenance release for the stable 1.2 branch and is expected to be the last release from this series. Security fixes and bug fixes are included.

GraphicsMagick 1.3.7 Released

GraphicsMagick 1.3.7 is both a bug-fix and feature release. The most important (and critical!) bug fix eliminates data corruption of attached profiles in JPEG files. There are several security fixes. New APIs are added to the C Core, Wand, and Magick++ libraries. Performance is improved for a number of algorithms.

GraphicsMagick 1.2.9 Released

GraphicsMagick 1.2.9 is now available. The only change in this release compared to 1.2.8 is a critical bug fix for embedded profile corruption when reading JPEG files. GraphicsMagick 1.2.9 is from the current old stable branch (current releases are 1.3.X) and is intended for use by OS distribution maintainers and others who must use a 1.2.X release.

GraphicsMagick 1.2.8 Released

This maintenance release contains security and bug fixes only for stable GraphicsMagick on the 1.2 release branch. If you must use a 1.2 version, then this is now the one to use.

GraphicsMagick 1.3.6 Released

GraphicsMagick 1.3.6 is now available. Many bug fixes and performance improvements are added since the prior release. A number of new features have been added such as Hald CLUT, ASC CDL, ColorMatrix, CALS, and other features have been dramatically improved in the areas of HP-PCL, DICOM, PDF, and many more.

GraphicsMagick 1.3.5 Released

This is a bug-fix release. A minor security issue is fixed with BMP and DIB files. Installation issues with the Linux SRPM should be resolved. Issues with the Windows binary install package should be resolved.

GraphicsMagick 1.3.4 Released

This release brings multi-threaded support under Windows for faster processing on multi-core systems. Large files are now supported under Windows. Support for small floats (16/24 bits) and 64-bit integer added for the TIFF format.

GraphicsMagick 1.3.3 Released

This release is primarily a bug-fix release for an unfortunate bug introduced by 1.3.2. However, it does contain a number of performance and capacity improvements. The image segmentation algorithm is instrumented for OpenMP and is adjusted to work for huge images.

GraphicsMagick 1.3.2 Released

GraphicsMagick 1.3.2 is primarily a minor bug fix release, but we did manage to add some more performance enhancements and even a new feature. The new feature is that +profile now supports an exclusive selection syntax so that profiles may be selectively stripped from an image.

GraphicsMagick 1.3.1 Released

This release provides even more performance than initial 1.3 release. Provision has been made for systems with "slow" threads in order to block out algorithms which may perform slower with more threads. The RPM build is fixed. Conjure no longer leaks memory. Rotate by 90 and 270 degrees is now multithreaded.
