The discussion of the widget labels---particularly that of relationships and children---gave me a "crazy" idea in thinking of more generic names. Specifically, the use of gramps by a stud service or breeder who has a need to keep records of the bloodlines for a star poodle or champion race horse. It would also be useful to see the quality of litters produced by certain couplings. Is there a way to choose more generic names for the widgets that are not offensive or demeaning to people? In particular, I'm thinking of Partner(s) or Mate(s) rather than Relationship(s), Offspring instead of Children, and either Parentage or Parents. It seems that "mate" may not be appropriate for certain (human) relationships, but partner should be fine. My only hesitation with that term is that in the U.S., sometimes "partner" is used to describe same-sex relationships or to imply an unmarried state. Is "offspring" too bestial for humans? Oh well, it's been a loooong day at the office.... Cheers! -Don ________________________________________________ Donald A. Peterson | dpe...@si...
