You are correct -- gramps is guilty of setting a fixed pixel size for its m= ain=20 window as well as some of its dialogs. It is done indirectly, through setti= ng the size of the internal widgets. Anyway, if you can try applying the patch below (one line removal) and let me know how it works for you it would be great. The patch should be applied to the gramps.glade file which is found in either /usr/share/gramps= =20 or in /usr/local/share/gramps (depending on your installation). Let me know if it fixes the main gramps window for you. We will need some more changes to make dialogs smaller, but it's a start.
