Mike, I'm not sure if SuSE 8.1 provides the environment necessary. GRAMPS 0.9.0 requires GNOME 2. Previous versions ran under GNOME 1.4. Requirements are: * Python 2.2 * GNOME 2.0 * pygtk2 and pygtk2-libglade (some distributions may combine these) * gnome-python2, gnome-python2-canvas, gnome-python2-gconf (again, som distributions may combine these) I do not know if the RPMs from RedHat would work on SuSE. Building the GNOME 2 packages from source is always an option, but not for the faint of heart.
