What about line feed, carriage return, or am I pushing my luck! >I am surprised to learn that 0.8 is the latest version available on OSX 10.. >I am sure I saw 1.0.x release packaged for fink. >The page at http://fink.sourceforge.net/pdb/package.php/gramps >claims 1.0.3 packaged for unstable. Unfortunately, (as I understand it, which is a very limited understanding), the 1.0.3. version is for Mac OS X 10.3, and I am using 10.2. The problem is apparently Gnome2 which I gather is used by versions of gramps after 0.8.0, and which is tricky to put on 10.2 > >If you can't/won't switch to unstable fink archive, you may fix your problem >by changing the line > self.f =3D open(file,"r") >to > self.f =3D open(file,"rU") >in the ReadGedcom.py file. On Linux it would be installed under the >/usr/share/gramps/plugins directory. On OSX it might be somewhere else, >just search for the ReadGedcom.py and change that line, it should fix >the import problem. Excellent, there can't be many bugs with that small a fix! Unfortunately, is this only available with Python 2.3? and the version for Mac OS X is 2.2, so there is another gotcha! Anyway, thanks Tim. >Hope this helps, >Alex > >--=20 >Alexander Roitman http://ebner.neuroscience.umn.edu/people/alex.html >Dept. of Neuroscience, Lions Research Building >2001 6th Street SE, Minneapolis, MN 55455 >Tel (612) 625-7566 FAX (612) 626-9201 > >--vOmOzSkFvhd7u8Ms >Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" >Content-Description: Digital signature >Content-Disposition: inline > >-----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- >Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (GNU/Linux) > >iD8DBQFA81Tc/4Mm4cNxJ9MRAl+NAJ9GNxwEJCdNDIOBCzKQmGK2hZsrigCg3HhY >Gx9ru0RT6rMQhrcJe/dYfzM= >=hwU8 >-----END PGP SIGNATURE----- > >--vOmOzSkFvhd7u8Ms-- |
