It's just another potential case that will break a whole lot of genealogy assumptions, including data models and software. Along with genetic contributions from more than two individuals, we already have surrogate mothers (the gestational-carrier type), and conception long after the death of the male using frozen sperm. These all break the "two living biological parents conceiving a child" paradigm. In contrast, handling same-sex marriages and gender reassignment is easier. Even simple issues like twins born in different years, or in different countries, or even to different fathers can be problematic for same models (www.parallaxview.co/familyhistorydata/data-model#CSBirthsMidnight) I know this is a little OT but I have always thought that a reference list of these "edge conditions" would help in all areas of development, and prevent the same mistakes being made again and again.
