I am trying to make some updates the Pro-Gen import plug-in for citations [1], and have noticed a number of problems. (1) SOURce TEXT (brontekst) is attached to the event object, but it should be attached to the Citation object [2]. Would anybody mind if I changed it to the citation? (2) Source text outputs a WARNING message for text that is attached to events such as Birth, Baptism etc. I don't know why this would warrant a warning, I propose to remove it. The ProGen test file progen- sample.zip attached to bug 6195 does have some notes, but none are attached to events. Could someone please create a test file with some notes attached to events? (3) Patronymic names are skipped with a warning, but there are no Patronymic names in the test file. Now that Gramps fully supports Patronymics, there is no reason why these should not be properly imported. Again there is no sample data, so could someone please provide some. (4) Titles (which do appear in the test data) are skipped with an unclear error message. Again, given that these are now well supported in Gramps, I propose to incorporate these. (5) _TITL2 and _TITL3 are ignored - is there a good field in Gramps that these could be stored in? Regards, Tim. |
