[Gramps-users] New user of Gramps

Hello. I am a new user of Gramps. Still struggling with my first input 
but slowly starting to understand my way with the program.
The help sites are a good information but I am still left with some 
basic problems.

I lost my work with a dos program so no data transfer and have to start 
over.
My family history goes back to around the 4th century and is quite 
complete. 
I wonder if I should start the buildup from the beginning of the family 
history or if I would go down from today.

Would appreciate thoughts of Gramps users. And please if you have 
additional advise just give it to me.
