This will be possible with new Pedigree view, on next major release (3.3.x).

If you want, there is a 'draft page' about current new features in next
major release, on wiki:

Feel free to make this page more "user friendly"!

Did you already try to disable to sidebar mode (Menu -> Display), maybe
this could display one generation more ?
