> 1 - Is this done by a python script? If so, which one? I am not sure what you mean. All of gramps is in Python. And very little is done in "one" anything, as I understand it. > 2 - Is there a report that will generate charts similar to those created > here: http://roots.cs.byu.edu/pedigree/ I only glanced at their site (strange to see an advertisement from a university group), and they only showed one example in detail, but yes, when I glanced at it I didn't see anything which couldn't be done by the Ancestor Tree "graphical" report -- but only the version in the upcoming gramps 3.3, as the present version was drastically rewritten for 3.3 (not by me, I'm just a user). For instance I made a three-foot by five-foot chart (a Descendant Tree, though) last August for a family reunion we had. I used the "add-on" version of that report, which has turned into the forthcoming 3.3's version. I don't know if he's done an "hourglass" chart though; I only know of ancestor and descendant versions. (I had the chart printed at OfficeMax for $8.25, by the way, but places like FedEx and Staples and OfficeDepot all seem to do it.) |
