Jérôme, I think we should go ahead and continue to fix, develop, and evolve gramps-cd to be its own project. In order to decide what should be on the CD, I would give these priorities: 1) Give users a good out-of-the-box experience with Gramps Users could include new users, but perhaps also mobile Gramps users. That way people could boot their laptop in Ubuntu, load their family tree, and head into the field. Tools might include geocode-type, and perhaps built-in camera support. 2) Include extras that Gramps uses, including languages, OpenOffice, etc. 3) Customize the installed Gramps with appropriate Addons 4) Include other open source genealogy apps and tools This would be a nice gesture, along the lines of Alex's original goal, but a secondary goal of gramps-cd. 5) Include other free genealogy apps and tools (with, perhaps, wine) We could explore making two versions: a CD (700 MB limit) and a DVD. -Doug > Regards, > Jérôme > > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > What happens now with your Lotus Notes apps - do you make another costly > upgrade, or settle for being marooned without product support?
