I'm using sidux 32 bit (debian unstable) and doing fairly regular dist-upgrades. On Commit Log for Sun Jul 25 21:39:32 2010 Upgraded the following packages: libsqlite3-0 (3.6.23.1-4) to 3.7.0-1 python (2.6.5-9) to 2.6.5-10 python-minimal (2.6.5-9) to 2.6.5-10 python-twisted-bin (10.1.0-1) to 10.1.0-2 python-twisted-core (10.1.0-1) to 10.1.0-2 xserver-xorg-video-geode (2.11.8-6) to 2.11.8-7 Following this upgrade, Gramps worked with no problem ( I'm sure I ran it after this update without re-booting ). Two days later I did Commit Log for Tue Jul 27 14:01:46 2010 Upgraded the following packages: python-gobject (2.21.1-2) to 2.21.4-1 Running Gramps after this update resulted in the following error message from Gramps: 8984: ERROR: gramps.py: line 138: Unhandled exception Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/share/gramps/gui/viewmanager.py", line 1145, in change_category self.__do_change_category(num) File "/usr/share/gramps/gui/viewmanager.py", line 1152, in __do_change_category if num == -1: File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/gtk-2.0/gi/__init__.py", line 27, in <module> from gi.repository import GObject ImportError: cannot import name GObject This error was confirmed by another user on the sidux forums: http://sidux.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&p=163180#163180 Trying to force the older version of python-gobject was highly unsuccessfull. :-) Thanks, Phil |
