If dates uses a markup (bold by default, see your preferences), then 
date is noted as a "textual date".

Have you a sample of date ?
A space, comma, separator, letter issues ?

It should be "easy" to write a rule on your default date handler for 
parsing these textual dates.
i.e the next time you will load your database, this new rule will parse 
text on dates, so you will get valid dates (calculate age, sort events, 
data check, etc ...) :)
