Yes, it's much more a forrest than a tree, but if you like forrests, you can. The problem is that if you display *all* the people, it's not a tree so much as a forest. Go back 5 or 6 generations, get all 32 or 64 ancestors, and chase down most of their descendants, along with many of those descendant's *other* ancestors back a generation or three, and laying this all out becomes a decidedly non-trivial issue (especially if you're trying to do it without lines crossing). Maybe a good way to lay it out in a real 3-D environment would work..
