There is a message on the bug list the poll is also not working in
mediawiki.

Also that was an extension. We can do without it if it cannot be mended, the
#lst macro is however very usefull to reduce workload.

Note that I noticed news not working already some time ago, only now I
looked into it due to the upcoming release.
