I have located one of the reasons for the /tmp/temp file cannot be imported error: inconsistency between database hash versions. I updated the webpage http://www.gramps-project.org/wiki/index.php?title=Recover_corrupted_grdb#The_environment_is_lost to indicate one might need to try different versions of the db utils.
