There have been several questions sent to me about the changes on the Relationship View in 2.2.3 and 2.2.4, so I thought I would clarify things a bit. As some of you have noticed, by default, a lot of the buttons are gone in the Relationship View. This was done for a couple of reasons: 1) The buttons cluttered up the display and caused confusion. 2) Many of the buttons were redundant. So, below is a mini-FAQ on the issues. Q. Where did the Edit icons go that were next to each person? A. If you right click on a name, a menu pops up allowing you to select "Edit". This will edit the person.=20 Q. But I liked the buttons! Isn't there anyway to bring these back? A. Yes. In the preferences, select the option that says "Display edit buttons in Relationship View" Q. Why did the default change? A. Because the Relationship View is more about the relationships between people instead of an individual specific information. So this view now emphasizes the relationships instead of the=20 specific information about the people. All this is still=20 available, but it is just not the default. Q. What happened to the buttons to add a new or select parents=20 and to add a new spouse? These where right beside each Parents or Family label. A. These buttons caused a fair amount of confusion, because if multiple sets of parents or families existed, each section had its own set of buttons that performed the exact same task. To eliminate the redundancy and to be more consistent with the other views, these buttons were removed off the view and replaced with buttons on the toolbar. |
