I believe the following message from Gerald Britton did not reach the mailings lists. I assume the intention was to send it to everyone, and therefore I include it here in full: On Wed, 2006-08-30 at 12:48 -0400, Gerald Britton wrote: > Looks interesting but I can't quite see how you would solve this problem: > > "Problem: I've heard people having difficulties with entering > information using the relationships view. If so, what would this look like? > No, on the contrary. Under my proposal, adding a parent to an already existings set of parents would still require you to click the "edit" icon. I can see why my bug report was confusing... let me explain a little bit more: By moving the "+" icon to the left, I wanted to break the link between this icon and specific sets of parents. The current layout gives you the impression that the "+" sign will change something about the already existing sets of parents, which is not true. This is the main problem I wanted to solve. The "-" icon and the "edit" icon *do* change the existing set immediately below the icon. Their function is dependent on which *specific* set of parents is immediately below them. Therefor, these icons should stay where they are. This is not the case for the existing "+" sign: whatever "+" icon you click in the current relationship view in the parents section, the result is the same: you add *a* new set of parents. Michaël |
