The core of the problem is Garmin's USB doesn't play nicely with stacks other than Windows. Old stacks played very badly - as you just observed. About spring of last year they started playing well enough that we were able to make them reliable with some workarounds but the very latest ones should be pretty good. Now that Garmin themselves are interested in Mac, they're more motivated than when I sent them CatC analyzer traces quoting the USB specs they violated some two years ago. :-) > Thanks for all the great work on GPSBabel :) You're welcome.
