Hi All, I am writing GPX files with GDAL and using GPSBabel (v1.4.3 beta) for uploading to a GPS. I have found that GDAL writes out the GPX files using UTF-8 encoding but does not place this information into the header of the file. I've found that GPSBabel will not read the GPX file without the encoding defined. This is what GPSBabel expects: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> This is what GDAL outputs: <?xml version="1.0"?> The XML standards state that encoding declaration is optional so I'm wondering, is there a way for GPSBabel to read these files? Or do I need to explicitly encode them first? Thanks, Chris |
