My guess is that it's hanging on the open, implying a problem in the serial system. They may have changed the tty device to block awaiting some handshake pin that's never asserted or they could have a plain ole bug and shipped it without testing. We see a lot of that on Linux. 'Security updates' or power management changes will hose the USB stack for a few weeks and then they'll start working as mysteriously as they stopped. RJL |
