I have read this page: http://www.gpsbabel.org/htmldoc-1.3.6/filter_polygon.html and took the use of # signs for comments literally. I have now attempted to convert a file in this format to another format using: gpsbabel -i arc -f cut.arc -o osm -F cutw.osm and all of the comment lines come out as the following points: <node id='-1' visible='true' lat='-1.000000' lon='0.000000'> <tag k='created_by' v='GPSBabel-1.3.6'/> <tag k='name' v='WPT001'/> <tag k='note' v='WPT001'/> </node> ... <node id='-7' visible='true' lat='0.000000' lon='1.000000'> <tag k='created_by' v='GPSBabel-1.3.6'/> <tag k='name' v='WPT007'/> <tag k='note' v='WPT007'/> </node> ... <node id='-14' visible='true' lat='0.000000' lon='2.000000'> <tag k='created_by' v='GPSBabel-1.3.6'/> <tag k='name' v='WPT014'/> <tag k='note' v='WPT014'/> </node> I assume it's somehow managing to read the comments as values, and is attempting ot do somthing with the. Is there any good way around this? I can send a test case, but as the file i'm using contains slightly private data, i'd rather not post it to the list. On a higher level, I am trying to edit an arc file to add arcs to it in a user friendly and consumer friendly way is there a better way to do this? Thanks, JR |
