GPSBabel Users/Developers - need help pls.. (hope I posted this to the appropriate list :) -> I am a Mac user on a 1.67 GHz G4 Power PC Power Book trying to read the log files and reset the following GPS trackers in order to further process the GPS Data captured on the receiver. XAiOX iTrackU BLUETOOTH GPS-RECEIVER SiRF III XAiOX TrapScout BLUETOOTH GPS-RECEIVER SiRF III So far I have not been able to find iTrackU (apparently the original Windows Software) or an equivalent that might work with this receiver apart from GPSBabel: > Tried reading out the data of the Receiver mentioned above via Bluetooth and USB. I tried all the receivers of the drop-downs using GPSBabel+ 2.1f20070716 and couldn't manage to get any data off the receiver: > Error Warnings: USB: Can't find USB File/Garmin USB Device. (Can't mount the receiver via Disk Utility either.) Bluetooth: Browse Bluetooth Device doesn't work - Find BT GPS, but Device does not have the necessary services to establish connection. > the supported formats on the http://www.gpsbabel.org/capabilities.html, can't find XAiOX format. > found the following thread communicating the problems mentioned above: http://www.nabble.com/-PATCH--Support-for-XAiOX-iTrackU-GPS-Logger-td19821034.html > I am not a developper, so it is difficult for me to follow the thread, see how the Patch is implemented, how reliable it functions and how I get the whole thing to work for me finally using the GUI of GPS Babel. I would be very greatful if you had any ideas as to how I could get GPSBabel to dump the log data as a ".dat" file to my Mac and reset the receiver like I would on a PC using the native Dump Log and Set Log applications provided by XAiOX. > it doesn't matter to me wether a possible solution runs via USB or Bluethooth thanx for any help! |
