Not really.

That option was provided for the old black and white Vistas which reset
their clock far into the future and then quit working.  It's not well tested on
other models.  It appears to not work on yours, for example.

If you get rid of udev and let us talk to the unit directly, as
recommended in our
doc at http://www.gpsbabel.org/os/Linux_Hotplug.html does it work?
